The green background is for contrast.

Aye, this looks a little crappy when compared to my other artworks.

The last Pokémon game I played was RSE, I barely have any idea about the Pokémons of Generation IV onwards. I'm planning to get Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire for nostalgia's sake, though. Delphox seems to be the type I'd want on my party (high special attack and speed) tho.

If I ever get a female Delphox (WHO WANTS TA TRADE?? *shot*) I'd name it Mahoney, in reference to its Japanese name Mahoxy. Mahoney/Espella of Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright is an alleged witch, who was supposed to be thrown into the fire. Quite reminiscent of Delphox's psychic and fire elements.

I'll have to check but I MIGHT have a female Fennekin I can trade; if not, I'm breeding for a shiny, and if I get a female I can set it aside for you uvu
(And you've done a beautiful job on this Delphox here uvu)

Lovely Gijinka!
You always come up with such cool looking outfits in your drawings.

All three boards went down a couple weeks ago. The main board came back up a couple days later, but the upload and misc boards never did. Not sure what the server administrators are doing about it...

Edit:upon further inspection the other boards don't seem to be entirely down, they're just having trouble running the php. All the pictures are still accessible, for example I can still load this page: http://oekaki.bulbagarden.net/pchatuploads/pictures/

Aisha, hello! It's such a pleasure to learn that you're active still. You're one-of-a-kind.

I'll never tire of your anthropomorphic Pokémon. Whether or not it was intended, in this I see a likeness to traditional portrayals of Cleopatra. On the anatomical side, her proportions look spot-on! This is great work; I hope to see more of it.

I've been experiencing trouble, too, in accessing the upload and miscellaneous boards. It's frustrating because Java isn't willing to cooperate at all with any oekaki applet on my end, so I've been relying heavily on the upload board to share whatever I conjure in Microsoft Paint or on paper. I hope that the issue(s) will be resolved before too long.
Nyveni @ Monday, May 11th 2015, 7:13 PM

Aaaa the board is back up again and people are drawing more great pictures and I finally have time to comment on some of them! As always, your gijinka work is gorgeous and has a sort of unique style that goes a little beyond just what the pokemon's design hints at. That's a pretty nice background pattern, too, however you made it.
edit: you too, toxi? The few times I've stopped by to draw things, java tells me the plugins aren't supported or something, sadly. Also, I'm going through and commenting on everybody's work so I guess check your stuff IDK? how do oekaki IDK

My word, this is the bee's knees. Get it?

I am transfixed by the concept of the femme fatale in history and popular culture. Edgar Allan Poe has shown us many times that he considers the death of a beautiful woman to be among the most poetic devices. What is equally enthralling to me is the concept of death by a beautiful woman, a sanguine seductress.

Your design for her dress fantastically embodies the femme fatale in addition to representing Beedrill, although one might also guess that this were Vespiquen. I also like her long legs and the way that her hair falls.

If you're open to requests, then may I suggest that you continue exploring the theme of femme fatale with Liepard?
Nyveni @ Monday, May 11th 2015, 7:17 PM

This is fantastic, it's got a lot of traditional beauty aspects like the leg and the high heel, but also lots of bee or wasp like parts, like the thin waist, long thin limbs, that fabulously patterned... bustle? I don't know dress anatomy that well haha and the alternating wide and narrow parts of her shoe. I also love the little bit of depth the small swirl patterns on the front of the dress adds to the whole thing.

Wooooo how adorable and fluffy looking, it looks like the weather's cold but the bird's nice and warm with all its feathers. I'm not too familiar with traditional Japanese art forms like wood prints myself, but it feels like it could fit in with what I know of them now that Tough Rainbows' pointed it out. The colors look fine to me, but I'm also a flux user so maybe I'm not the person to ask haha

I don't know what all to say about this, but the background with the sunlight on the hilltop and trees and the sky is really well done! It's got a very paintlike feel to it that reminds me of some of the earlier official artwork, before everything was standardized with solid color blocks and shadows and highlights. Maybe generation 2-ish?

This is a pretty cool looking lampent. It's a bit spikier and more... I don't know, modern and rough-ish with the angles and shapes than the standard lampent? Like something you'd see and buy from a metalworker's backyard shop or something. It's a pretty good contrast to the traditional smooth and curvey normal lampent. The coloring on its center flame is pretty well done, too. Also, welcome back! I hope you can stay around this time if you like.

I'mma back with another weird picture!

I was trying to go for a "stained glass" look--hence the polygonal shapes and simplistic style. (For the record, this is the first time I've drawn Groudon and Kyogre... please forgive any inaccuracies.)

I hope you like it!

Also, the timer is WAY off. I probably took about half that time to draw this sucker...
Kovolta @ Saturday, April 4th 2015, 11:52 PM

Wow! I really love the effect!
It's always neat seeing Pokémon drawn in stained glass form. It gives an air of mystery and lore, like it would actually be something found in some shrine in the Pokémon world.

You picked the perfect subjects and the varying shades of blue, brown and red in the background really lend to the effect.

Oh wow wow wow! Back when the primal forms were first revealed, I tried my hand at a stained-glass design sorta like this. I was pretty happy with the primals themselves, especially groudon, but your backgrounds really hit all the texture and feel that I was trying to aim for. The varied shapes and small sizes of the polygons really makes it feel terrain-like.
